Running

I'm going to do it. I really mean it this time. To keep me accountable I want to announce it to the blog world...

I am going to start running!

In the past, this would not be a big deal. I remember Saturday soccer practice at Huntsville High consisted of hours of running, I could beat out a good bunt to first base, and I could swim for hours. Now I get winded walking up steps and I feel like drowning after 4 laps of freestyle. Not sure how I would feel after sprinting to 1st base but I have an educated guess...not great.

BUT (yes, there is a but) my legs have issues. Caylen and Mary Martha can back me up on this. They witnessed the torture every time we went on our walks together a few summers ago. I thought I was alone but Ben looked it up. It is a very real thing! Whenever I walk/run my legs turn red and itch uncontrollably. It might sound minor but it is very, very uncomfortable. Just to prove it exists...

If you read that, please notice the condescending "which, by the way, is fine for a sedentary person." Thanks. It also said the only way to get rid of this "embarrassing running problem" is to increase your fitness level. So now I have to do just that.

Ben likes to give me a hard time about this. I try to remind him that not every one is made to run a half marathon. Well to return the favor it is my turn to give him a hard time. If anyone is a fan of The Office you my understand why I call him 'Nard-dog when it comes to running.

*please note - I have his full permission to post this, wouldn't want to offend the hubs*
